Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query under its own terms and supplies any results. Wilcox County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the server to receive standard technical information about the visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is reported
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Internet Protocol address
- Pages viewed and approximate visit duration
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand site activity, such as which pages receive visits and where sessions end. Analytics vendors can aggregate that traffic information. A browser can block cookies, although disabling them may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Operating the site and maintaining acceptable load times
- Measuring which material visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect likely interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Wilcox County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case information. It publishes directions to the Wilcox Circuit Clerk, the trial courts, municipal or Probate custodians, and Alabama's case-search services. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party record profiles, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies power the search tools. Their privacy policies, rather than this policy, govern information entered in those boxes. Each partner decides how long it keeps data and when it shares data. Review those terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to clerk pages, court portals, Alabama case systems, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy terms control. Read them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. That processing does not occur on systems controlled by Wilcox County Court Docket.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be handled by:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks placing ads
- Search partners processing a submitted query
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet-connected system can guarantee perfect security, so the possibility of unauthorized access cannot be eliminated.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under eighteen. If such information is identified, a deletion request can be made.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy or consumer-protection law may provide additional rights based on a visitor's residence. Alabama's public access framework for government records includes Ala. Code ยง 36-12-40, while electronic court-record custody and access are addressed by Alabama Rules of Judicial Administration 31 and 33. Those court-record rules do not turn this private site into a court custodian. At a minimum, a visitor can:
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Ask what personal data is held
- Object to certain processing where a right applies
- Seek deletion of eligible information
